The Foundation promotes research in the natural sciences at universities and institutions, primarily in the fields of forest management and forest industry, including value-added products, hygiene products, packaging and process, energy and environmental technologies.
Research grants constitute the main part of the Foundation´s activities. In addition, the Foundation offers travel grants to researchers who participate in scientific conferences and similar activities and awards grants for the best master thesis (Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent level).
Awards for Best Master Thesis
Bo Rydin Foundation annually awards four to six grants of 30.000 SEK each for the best master theses. Two copies of the thesis should be sent to Bo Rydin Foundation by September 30th together with comments and recommendations from the head of division, supervisor or equivalent.
Travel Grants
The Foundation awards individual travel grants; doctoral and other postgraduate students may apply in connection with active participation in scientific conferences, etc. in fields which the Foundation supports.
