SCA supports social responsibility initiatives for Christmas

As a caring company, SCA has selected different initiatives around the world to support before Christmas, amongst them the Red Cross in Sweden, UNICEF, Kinder beschenken Kinder in Germany, the National Autism Society of Malaysia, the Salvation Army of Australia and the children at the Alder Hey hospital in Liverspool, UK.

SCA supports Christmas initiatives around the world 2011

Sweden

SCA has during autumn 2011 campaigned to gain more likes for the company’s page on facebook.com/SCA, promising to donate one Euro to the Red Cross for each new page like.

This Hygiene Matters activation campaign generated about 1,000 new likes resulting in 1,000 Euro going to the Red Cross in Sweden. The company adds another 4,000 Euro to this amount generated by different internal campaigns.

Germany

SCA Packaging Germany has as always been very supportive before Christmas with 300 Christmas parcels going to children living in poverty as part of the initiative Kinder beschenken Kinder (1). Moreover SCA Packaging Germany is selling UNICEF postcards to collect money for UNICEF’s work around the world – offering education, vaccination, clean water and shelters against violence.

Malaysia

SCA’s baby care brand Drypers is giving RM1 to the National Autism Society of Malaysia for every wish made on www.facebook.com/DrypersMY (3).

Australia

SCA’s team in Box Hill, Australia has been collecting collecting non-perishable food for the Salvation Army (2).

United Kingdom

SCA employees at the SCA mill in Chesterfield, UK have played Santa Claus to children spending Christmas in at the Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool (4) this year. On top of this, SCA employees have also added an extra £1,000 to fund improvements to the hospital oncology ward's waiting room.

USA

At the beginning of December 2011, 130 employees from SCA's office in Philadelphia volunteered at five different organizations across the city including SHARE Food Program of PA, Eliza Shirley House shelter for women and children, The Salvation Army, Guild House West Senior Center and the Smith Memorial Playground.

SCA also gave each organization a USD 1,000 donation.
